ICHVE 2026 is pleased to offer two distinct award opportunities to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of High Voltage Engineering:
IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Grzybowski Awards – prestigious awards established by the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS), recognizing significant achievements in research, engineering, and innovation in the fields of High Voltage Engineering and dielectric materials. (link)
Young Researcher Award – ICHVE 2026 – an award specifically intended to recognize young researchers who have demonstrated outstanding and innovative research contributions in the field of High Voltage Engineering through their work presented at ICHVE 2026. (link)
The two award programs have different eligibility requirements and nomination/application procedures, as described below.
IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Grzybowski Awards
Awards and nomination information
The IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Grzybowski Awards have been established by the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) and are open to IEEE members and to qualified scientists and engineers outside of IEEE. The awards are granted biennially (every two years) and consist of a prize and a plenary award lecture given at IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Applications (ICHVE). The awards can be granted only once to a specific individual and are as follows:
IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Grzybowski Young-professional Achievement Award is addressed to young researchers or engineers which are involved in challenging topics in the fields of high voltages or dielectric materials and reached the first significant results. This Award will be granted to individuals with a minimum of three years and up to ten years of career experience in research, engineering or innovation after completing their Bachelor’s degree.
IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Grzybowski Lifetime Achievement Award is addressed to individuals with an outstanding career in research, engineering or innovation in the fields of high voltages engineering or dielectric materials. This Award is addressed to those having a minimum of twenty years long experience certified by publications, patents and/or other significant achievements.
Prizes: Each of the awards consists of an honorarium of 5000 US$ and a plaque presented at the ICHVE. The awardee must present a plenary lecture at the ICHVE. Travel costs to the ICHVE are not covered. The award fund is initially 100% supported by the Caixin Sun Foundation of Education of Chongqing University, China.
Nominee Solicitation: Nomination letters for candidates to be considered for the 2026 ICHVE must be submitted by a third person (nominator) by April 30, 2026 . The nominators should submit a detailed CV of their candidates as well as information on why they think the nominee is qualified. The nominator should also explain how they are familiar with the nominee. This submission should include at least two endorsement letters from IEEE members. Self-nominations are not permitted. The nomination shall be submitted electronically to the Chair of the ICHVE Awards Committee, Prof. Masoud Farzaneh (farzaneh@uqac.ca).
Award Committee: The nominations will be reviewed by the ICHVE Awards Committee for choosing awardees. This selection will be ratified by the DEIS Award Committee. The members of the ICHVE Awards committee are selected by the ICHVE International Advisory Committee (IAC) based on their knowledge of the field and their reputation.
Young Researcher Award
The ICHVE 2026 Young Researcher Award is established to recognize and encourage outstanding young researchers who have made significant and innovative contributions to the field of High Voltage Engineering and Applications.
The award aims to highlight the scientific achievements of young researchers participating in ICHVE 2026 and to encourage their continued contribution to the advancement of high voltage engineering, dielectric materials, insulation systems, electrical equipment, and related technologies.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the ICHVE 2026 Young Researcher Award, the candidate must meet all of the following requirements:
• The candidate must be 35 years old or younger at the time of the conference.
• The candidate must be the first author and main contributor of the submitted paper.
• The candidate must be the presenting author of the paper at ICHVE 2026.
• The paper must be accepted and presented at ICHVE 2026, either as an oral presentation or a poster presentation.
• The submitted work must demonstrate originality, scientific quality, and significant contribution to the field.
• Each candidate may be considered for the award with only one paper.
Selection Process
Eligible candidates will be identified from the papers presented at ICHVE 2026. The ICHVE 2026 Awards Committee will evaluate the eligible candidates. The evaluation will take into account the scientific content of the paper as well as the candidate's presentation during the conference.

ICHVE 2026 Young Researcher Award
The award will be presented during the ICHVE 2026 Conference Closing Ceremony.
The award recognizes outstanding scientific achievement and is intended to encourage young researchers to continue contributing to the development of High Voltage Engineering and Applications.
Nomination
Eligible candidates may self-nominate for the ICHVE 2026 Young Researcher Award.
